The REAL project is all about helping community leaders, Leaders of Volunteers, and decision-makers from six European countries (Ireland, Belgium, Croatia, Romania, Germany and Norway) gain the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to support sustainable growth, build stronger communities, and encourage people to get involved. By doing this, we aim to make communities more resilient—meaning they can handle challenges and recover more easily from problems. The project runs from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2027.
Sustainable Growth: Building for the Future

Sustainable growth is key because it helps communities stay strong and stable over time, even when facing crises or changes.
Social Cohesion: Bringing People Together
Social cohesion is about creating communities where people get along, trust each other, and work together toward common goals. It helps communities respond quickly and effectively to challenges. REAL promotes:
When communities are united and everyone feels like they belong, they are stronger and better able to overcome challenges together.
Active Engagement: Getting Involved and Making a Difference
Active engagement means that people participate in their communities, share their ideas, and contribute their time and effort to solving problems. REAL focuses on:
When people actively participate in their communities, they help create solutions that work for everyone, making their community stronger.
How Sustainable Growth, Social Cohesion, and Active Engagement Work Together
