As the national volunteer development organisation in Ireland, we feel it is essential to acknowledge the phenomenal contribution made by volunteers across the country and the Awards are one of the ways we do this.

We are very much looking forward to meeting all our guests in person on Saturday 2nd December and celebrating on the night!

 

Category winners

There are 12 categories in the awards and each one has 3 shortlisted volunteers.  On the night all shortlisted volunteers will be presented with a certificate on stage and if you win in your category, you will be invited to the stage again to be presented with an award.

 

Volunteer of the Year

Each year one shortlisted nominee is named overall Volunteer of the Year. A set of judges will read through the shortlisted nominations and select the Volunteer of the Year, who will be announced at the end of the night.

 

The event

The awards ceremony will take place at Limerick Racecourse, Greenmount Park, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick, V94 K858 on Saturday 2nd December. There will be a drinks reception from 5pm with the sit-down dinner and awards ceremony starting afterwards.

The ticket includes access to the pre-drink reception as well as the full sit-down dinner and are €50/person (Eventbrite fees not included).

 

Dress code

Although the Awards ceremony is a great excuse to get dressed up, please come however you are most comfortable! If you want to wear a ballgown or suit, please do, but if you would rather attend the ceremony in jeans and t-shirt, that is not a problem at all as there is no official dress code.

 

Staying overnight

If you wish to book a room to stay at the hotel, I would advise doing so soon to avoid disappointment as it is a busy time of year and rooms may get booked up.

We will be posting about the awards and the shortlisted nominations on our website and social media and issuing a press release, so there is a chance that it will be featured in some local media.

The Volunteer Ireland Awards are a great opportunity to show the amazingly diverse range of volunteering that happens across Ireland.  It will also bring some more light to the organisation that you volunteer with.  We are so proud to be able to share so many volunteering stories from across the country.  These stories are very powerful and do encourage more people to get involved.
