“From the first weeks that Ireland welcomed us, we have been incredibly grateful. And what better way to show our appreciation than through volunteering?
“Working with local charities, we began our volunteering journey last year, offering our craft, music, and translation skills. We were lucky to meet many caring people who gladly helped us.
“In the past seven months, we’ve hosted many art and craft masterclasses, sharing Ukrainian culture with Irish people. Among those who came to our classes, there were many children, elderly people, and people with disabilities.
“We’ve volunteered with numerous other causes as well, such as the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, the local choir, and local art projects. Our favourite aspect of volunteering has been experiencing the boundless goodwill of people, and sharing the pleasure of the creative process.
“When you run away from the horrors of know and love, you feel a kind of ‘uselessness’ and spiritual emptiness. Volunteering has helped to fill it and give our lives new meaning.”

З перших тижнів, як Ірландія гостинно прийняла нас як повноцінних членів громади, для нас не було іншого шляху, окрім віддячити всіма можливими силами. І що може бути більш красномовним, ніж волонтерство? Нам пощастило зустріти серед місцевих багато небайдужих людей, які радо посприяли нам в цьому.
Тож в тандемі “майстриня” і “композиторка-перекладачка”, працюючи пліч-о-пліч з місцевими благодійними організаціями, ми почали свій шлях волонтерства.
За неповні 7 місяців нами було проведено безліч майстер-класів, які, насамперед, були спрямовані на розповсюдження української культури серед ірландців. Це були М-К “Кукла “Мотанка”, “Писанки”, “Вишивання брелоків”, “Інтуїтивне малювання” і навіть організація перфомансу на день Св. Патріка. Серед людей, які приходили на наші майстер-класи, було багато дітей, людей похилого віку, а також людей з обмеженими можливостями. Також ми долучалися і до місцевих заходів, таких як “shoe box” напередодні Різдва, місцевого Хору та арт-проектів інших майстринь.
